Rules of The Mind

Your mind has the most powerful healing potential on the planet.

-Marisa Peer

Did you know your mind has a set of rules by which it operates?

You have the ability to change your beliefs and replace your habits of thought with something better. This is the key to creating a life that aligns with your core desires.

The challenge is that 95% of your beliefs are embedded within your subconscious mind, outside the view of your consciousness. No amount of effort will enable you to reach those beliefs if you are not implenting the right technique.

Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) is a specialized form of hypnotherapy that allows you to easily and effortlessly unlock the mental constructs holding you back. These are the same thought processes that cause anxiety, depression, panic, worry, self-sabotage, addiction, obsessive-compulsive behavior, procrastination, and a whole host of other problems.

By gaining understanding of how your mind works, you can become a more powerful creator of your own life.

RULES OF THE MIND

  1. The mind cannot hold conflicting beliefs / thoughts / emotions.

You can think of your brain like a computer. Every thought you experience is a direct and literal command. Therefore, when you have a thought such as, “I am not enough,” your brain takes the thought literally. This can cause feelings of anxiety, depression, or cause addictive behaviors that serve to fill a void. Thus, it is important to refrain from self-deprecating and contradictory words that confuse the mind. From the brain’s perspective, everything is literal!

  2. Every thought you think causes a physical reaction in the body.

When you have a thought such as, “This job is killing me,” your brain sends that direct command to every cell in your body which can then cause a variety of physical reactions that may manifest as pain, exhaustion, disease, etc. It is never helpful to make jokes at your own expense. Using positive, nurturing and supportive language is the key to protecting mental, emotional and physical health. To learn more about the impact of mental health on physical wellbeing click here.

  3. We are what we think and believe.

The mind responds only to pictures and words. It’s extremely important to create crystal clear pictures of the reality you desire, as well as use positive and affirming language to support yourself with kindness, compassion and powerfully uplifting dialogue.

  4. Imagination is more powerful than knowledge when dealing with the mind.

Your emotional, imaginative mind will always conquer over logic. If you imagine your partner to be cheating and you feel a strong emotional reaction to that imagined scenario, your mind will reinforce the belief. It is essential to imagine positive scenarios and to reinforce those imagined scenarios with a strongly paired experience of positive emotion.

  5. Every suggestion you act upon creates less opposition in future suggestions.

When you have a long history of a negative behavior (such as overeating) your mind associates a strong belief with the fact that you are an unhealthy eater. You come to identify with that negative pattern. Likewise, the more success you achieve in a certain area over time, the greater your ability to believe and identify with that positive behavior. This is how confidence is built. One positive decision at a time will eventually lead to a firmy planted positive belief about yourself.

  6. When dealing with the subconscious mind, the greater the conscious effort, the less the subconscious response.

Have you ever lost your train of thought and tried really hard to remember what you were talking about? Did you notice how the thought wouldn’t come to mind until you “let go” of the effort to remember? Then all of a sudden, the thought comes drifting back to you. Trying harder creates less response in the subconscious mind. Being in a relaxed and receptive state (such as the one created through hypnosis) allows the subconscious mind to adopt new information most easily.

  7. Once an idea has been accepted by the subconscious mind, it stays there until it is changed and replaced.

Much like an object set in motion will remain in motion until it is met with an equal but opposite force, once a belief is learned by the brain, it will remain nestled in the subconscious mind until it is consciously identified, released and replaced. Hypnotherapy is the fastest and most focused way of doing this.

  8. The longer an idea is in the mind, the more opposition there is to change it.

Have you ever suggested to someone that they could do something a different way only to be met with resistance that sounds like, “I’ve always done it this way!” Thoughts can be replaced, and yet the longer they remain unchanged and constantly reinforced, the more the resistance to replace it. The mind likes what is familiar. Therefore, finding a way to work around the nervous system, or the “guard dog” of the brain, is essential to healing stubbornly stuck beliefs. Rapid Transformational Therapy allows you to bypass the nervous system’s stubborn defenses.

  9. The universe will support and mirror everything you believe,

When you’re thinking, “Nothing works out for me. I can’t succeed. I will never find the love of my life.” These types of negative beliefs are mirrored in your outer reality. That is why the process of manifestation always begins with positive beliefs in whatever you desire. From there, positive feelings will align with your positive beliefs. Then your outer reality will mirror that positivity back to you.

  10. Whatever we focus on, we move toward. What we focus on expands.

Energy flows where attention goes. Wherever you focus your attention, you will amplify the object of your focus. When your thoughts and beliefs are focused on negativity, that negativity expands. Similarly, when your focus is plugged into positive and productive beliefs, you expand those positive outlets.

  11. An emotionally induced symptom will cause organic changes over time.

Studies have shown approximately 75% of all ailments are caused by what is going on in the mind. In the world of trauma healing, there is a saying, “The issues are stored in the tissues.” This means the difficult events we encounter in life can cause us to internalize negative thoughts and feelings that in turn manifest in the form of physical aches, pains, inflammation and degeneration. True preventative medicine starts with the healing of the mind.

Now that you understand the basic rules of the mind, you have a structure from which to begin changing your unhelpful beliefs. Remember, there is professional help available to you in overcoming these challenges presented by the basic structure and function of the brain.

Hypnotherapy, specifically Rapid Transformational Therapy, is one of the world’s most powerful tools in creating rapid, permanent, and lasting change.
